CIF Looking For New Commissioner

The Champions Indoor Football league is looking to hire a new commissioner to lead the league into it’s second year of operation.

“We are looking for an individual that, as our league commissioner can help us achieve our objectives and ultimate goal, and that is to be the premiere indoor football league in the United States,” said Ricky Bertz, CIF Interim Commissioner.

The CIF was founded in 2014 by a merger of the CPIFL (Champions Professional Indoor Football League) and the LSFL (Lone Star Football League) and is a professional indoor football organization with 12 member teams currently.

“The right candidate is someone who can connect with fans, business partners, and team owners that can bridge all three of those and help us build upon our inaugurals seasons success,” Bertz said. “As everyone knows, football is the most popular sport in the U.S. due to the extreme passion and dedication of its fans and followers.”

The Commissioner position will be to oversee the operations of the league, run the league office, manage and police the member teams, oversee league conference calls, plan bi-annual league meetings, prospect and sell league wide sponsorships, oversee league expansion efforts and more as seen fit by the league’s board of directors.

“The passion that we as a league see everyday from our teams fans that we want from our commissioner to have,” Bertz said. “That passion is what helps us to take the next steps forward in CIF the becoming recognized as a brand and sport across the U.S.”

The Commissioner will report directly to the Executive Committee and ultimately to the entire board of directors on matters of player and team discipline, rules of order for meetings and calls and general operation of the league.

It is preferred that applicants have extensive experience working in minor league professional sports front offices, as they will be counted on to help support any struggling or new teams. Position can be operated from anywhere in the U.S., but needs to be able to be mobile, as travel to member teams and possible expansion sites could be necessary from time to time.

Applicants should send resume, references, salary requirements and anything else they deem necessary for consideration for the job to [email protected]
